Dear
Parent,
Since 1969, the Druid Hills Child Development Center has provided an
environment where young children learn and grow through carefully crafted
programs designed around play, structured activities and parent/teacher
support. We strive to help children develop a healthy self-concept and
to learn independence. We are always working on our programs to meet
the needs of all our students.
The Center is very proud of the commitment and caliber of our teaching
staff many of whom have been with us for years and offer a stable environment
for the children. They are caring, well-trained individuals who love
what they do and have great respect for each child and their family.
Teacher’s work actively with parents to ensure each child is getting
the most out of their day at the Center. Communication is encouraged
through an open door policy, parent/teacher conferences, and daily/weekly
reports.
Parents and families are critical to the success of the Center and the
experience of their children. Social events and an active Parent Council
help to foster a spirit of community. Our families volunteer their time,
energy and resources to raise funds, improve our classrooms and assist
our staff. Our state-of-the art playground was opened in 1999 thanks
to the large number of volunteers who participated.
Located in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta the idependently
operated center shares space with Druid
Hills Presbyterian Church. The
Board of Directors is made up of parents, people from the community
and members of the church who contribute their unique talents to help
us provide the highest care at the lowest cost.
DHCDC believes that children should be encouraged to develop an awareness
and understanding of many cultures, lifestyles and beliefs. We welcome
everyone at the Center.
Sincerely,
Druid Hills Child Development Center
